SCE Upgrades Scheduled in El Segundo and Manhattan Beach
Southern California Edison (SCE) will begin maintenance work and make improvements to the electric grid in the cities of El Segundo and Manhattan Beach beginning December 11, 2017 through February 2018 to improve safety and reliability.
This work is important to ensure the power grid is supported with up-to-date technology and reliability continues to improve.
Please be advised of the following construction alert for this phase of the project:
From January 2-19, and January 26 - February 1, work will be conducted on Vista del Mar just north of 45th St. Work hours and lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Monday - Saturday)
While efforts have been taken to reduce the impacts of this project, traffic will be affected on Vista del Mar.
From 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. two northbound lanes and one southbound lane will be open on Vista del Mar.
At 9 a.m., Vista del Mar will be reduced to one open northbound land and one open southbound lane in each direction. Flaggers will be in place to safely escort pedestrians.
In some cases, large equipment such as cranes may be used. Please remain at a safe distance. There may be noise associated with construction activities. To ensure your safety during construction, there will be traffic lane and sidewalk closures. Crew members will use appropriate traffic control signs and flags.
