El Segundo: SECOND LOOK Art Exhibition by Curtis Green

  • Tentative Event No

El Segundo: Second Look is an exhibition of new paintings by artist Curtis Green. These paintings serve as an ode to El Segundo, showcasing iconic landmarks and sites throughout the city. Second Look will be on view in the El Segundo Public Library’s Reading Lounge during the library's open hours in the month of August.

A special limited edition print of Green’s painting of The Plunge will be available for sale during this year’s El Segundo Art Walk on August 24th. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the capital campaign supporting the upcoming renovations at The Plunge.

Curtis Green, an artist and educator based in Los Angeles, is known for incorporating traditional and classical methods in his work and is inspired by early to mid-twentieth-century art. Graduating with a BFA from the Otis Art Institute in 1994, his work has been featured in several museum exhibitions, including the Long Beach Museum of Art, and in private collections. Green teaches life drawing, oil painting, and portraiture throughout Southern California, regularly teaching at the Palos Verdes Art Center.
