The City of El Segundo has completed the 2015 Hazard Mitigation Plan and needs your review and comments! El Segundo faces a number of potential hazards such as earthquakes, severe weather, tsunamis, epidemics, terrorism, hazardous materials, and more. Hazard mitigation plans are developed before a disaster strikes. The plans identify community policies, actions, and tools for long-term implementation to reduce risk and potential for future losses. Once adopted and implemented, these plans gradually lessen the impacts associated with hazard events. Hazard mitigation plans must be approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in order for the city to be eligible for mitigation grant funding. This plan represents El Segundo’s intent to reduce the impact of hazards within the city.
At this stage in the planning process we need your feedback on the plan. As a member of the community, the City asks that you review the plan and provide your feedback by February 16, 2015 Click on the plan link below to review the plan.
