Bike It. Bus It. On BCT. The City of Redondo Beach is partnering with Los Angeles Metro for Bike to Work Day. Beach Cities Transit is hosting a Bike Pit Stop as part of Metro’s national month long bike celebration. More than 50 pit stops across L.A. County will offer refreshments and give-aways to bicycle commuters (Metro Pit Stop map). Beach Cities Transit buses are available as part of the free rides offered by Metro and local transit agencies. Bicyclists who combine their commute as a bike-transit trip can rack their bike and board the bus for free on May 19th 2016.
On Bike to Work Day, May 19th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, visit the Beach Cities Transit Pit Stop! BCT’s Pit Stop will be located along the new cycle track at Harbor Drive and Herondo Street at the border of Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach.
BCT will also be conducting a Bike/Bus Clinic, to practice lifting, securing and removing a bike from the bus.
The bike-transit trip is easy! Bike It. Bus It. On BCT. A few of BCT’s bike/bus friendly destinations include the Redondo Beach Riviera Village, Hermosa Beach Pier, Manhattan Beach Pier and El Segundo’s shopping plazas.
Be a part of BCT’s Bike to Work Day event and cycle with more than 170,000 bicycle commuters in Los Angeles, according to the 2014 U.S. Census American Community Survey.
