SEPULVEDA BOULEVARD NAME CHANGE TO PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
The City of El Segundo is excited to inform you of an upcoming project to change the name of Sepulveda Boulevard to Pacific Coast Highway within our City limits - from Rosecrans Avenue to Imperial Highway. This action was approved at the City Council’s April 18, 2017 meeting, and subsequently approved by the California State Department of Transportation (Caltrans), who owns and maintains the roadway, on April 4, 2018.
The name change was originally recommended to the City Council by its Economic Development Council as part of the City’s business attraction efforts. In addition, the City recently launched a hospitality and tourism marketing campaign to draw visitors to El Segundo’s hotels, shops, restaurants, and other attractions. The name Pacific Coast Highway will help visitors who are not familiar with the area recognize El Segundo as a thriving coastal community and a great place to work and visit.
The sign installation work is expected to be completed during the first weekend in June. We have confirmed with the US Postal Service that mail addressed to either Sepulveda Boulevard OR Pacific Coast Highway will be delivered for 24 months (through June 30, 2020) to facilitate the change for the property owners. The North or South (Sepulveda) designation will remain with your PCH address.
