Federal, State, and Local laws prohibit housing discrimination based on certain categories. The laws cover housing for rent or sale, advertising, lending, insurance, steering, redlining, and hate crimes. In California, virtually every unit of housing for rent or sale is covered under the fair housing laws. For more information, view the links.

The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) invites the public to participate in a series of community meetings, which are available in-person and virtually, for the purpose of receiving input on housing and community development needs in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. The Annual Action Plan serves as an action-oriented management tool, guiding federal grant spending to address housing and community development needs for residents with limited means living within the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Urban County Program (unincorporated areas and 47 participating cities, visit www.lacda.org). The Action Plan is the County’s application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Board of Supervisors will receive your input combined with market data to help determine which activities will be funded through the Action Plan to improve your neighborhoods. The goal is to create a better environment and neighborhoods for Los Angeles Urban County residents based on the needs identified by the Community.
Comments and needs expressed at these meetings will be presented to the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors and may be used to develop the Annual Action Plan, which allocates funds in the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-2025, starting on July 1, 2024. You can find Community Meetings information here: Community Meetings for the Annual Action Plan (lacda.org)
The Community Survey helps the County determine how best to allocate resources through the Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025). You can complete the survey here: yourvoicecounts.lacda.org
