The City of El Segundo utilizes multiple communications channels to alert the public about emergencies and events that affect the City. Two of the most effective channels are Alert SouthBay and Everbridge/Nixle. Please take a moment and sign up to receive important alerts from the City.

Powered by Everbridge, Alert SouthBay is a mass notification service that allows the City to alert you. You opt-in to enter your contact information and subscribe to notification you care about based on your location. The information you provide is protected and will not be used for any other purpose. When we issue a notification about a potential safety hazard or concern, you will receive a message on the voice or text communication methods that you have registered. 

Thirteen South Bay cities have established an alert and warning notification system as part of an integrated, interoperable regional platform. The Alert SouthBay, emergency notification system aims to keep communities informed about disasters and major emergencies via SMS (text), email, phone, landline, as well as other means of communication.  The notification system gives the Police, Fire, Emergency Management, and specific contract cities, the ability to deliver critical notifications to our community.

Everbridge/Nixle provides an open communication forum that connect public safety, municipalities, schools, businesses and the communities they serve. Nixle enables real-time communication through text, email, voice messages, social media and the Nixle mobile app. Organizations use Nixle for critical situations such as severe weather events, evacuations, safety hazards, security threats, facilities problems, employee notifications, and IT/Telecom disruptions.
