Code Enforcement is responsible for enforcement of the Municipal Code, including zoning/land use, property maintenance, and building standards. The Code Enforcement Section protects life, safety and property through the enforcement of codes and standards for the maintenance and regulation of property and structures in the City of El Segundo. Code Enforcement also enforces requirements for the licensing of all persons conducting business within the City. The Section's officers enforce the Codes professionally and consistently in order to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of El Segundo.
To File a Code Enforcement Complaint
Before you file a complaint:
Please confirm that the address in question is within the City's jurisdiction by checking this map. Once you have determined that the address is within the City of El Segundo, we need the following information in order to investigate the complaint.
- Your name, address and a phone number where you may be reached.
- Location of the violation (street address).
- Brief description of your complaint.

- Email the Code Enforcement Officer
- Visit the Building and Safety Department to discuss the complaint with staff Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m.
